Downtowner & Knotted @yeonnam은 기존 주택의 구조를 드러낸 상태 위에, 서로 다른 두 브랜드의 성격을 겹쳐 구성한 공간이다.

거친 벽돌과 노출 콘크리트, 구조체의 흔적은 공간 전반에 그대로 드러나며, 장소가 지닌 시간의 층위를 형성한다. 그 위에 각 층은 서로 다른 방식으로 구성된다. 1층의 다운타우너는 강한 블루 컬러와 투명한 소재를 통해 직접적이고 에너지 있는 분위기를 만들고, 2층의 노티드는 밝고 절제된 톤으로 보다 부드럽고 여유로운 인상을 형성한다.

중앙에 위치한 계단은 두 공간을 연결하는 동시에, 서로 다른 분위기가 전환되는 지점으로 작동한다. 흰색의 곡면으로 정리된 계단은 거친 구조 사이에서 또 하나의 레이어로 개입하며, 공간의 흐름을 명확하게 드러낸다.

기존 구조와 새로운 요소, 그리고 서로 다른 브랜드의 성격은 하나의 틀 안에서 겹쳐지며, 공간은 단일한 이미지가 아닌 복합적인 장면으로 완성된다.

Downtowner & Knotted @yeonnam is a space where two distinct brand identities are layered onto the exposed structure of an existing house.

Rough brick walls, exposed concrete, and structural elements are left visible throughout, revealing the accumulated layers of the building’s past. Within this framework, each floor is articulated differently. The ground floor, occupied by Downtowner, introduces a bold blue palette and translucent materials to create a direct and energetic atmosphere, while the upper floor, housing Knotted, adopts a lighter and more restrained tone, forming a softer and more relaxed impression.

Positioned at the center, the staircase acts as both a connector and a point of transition between the two environments. Its white, curved form inserts a distinct layer within the raw structural context, clearly articulating the shift in spatial experience.

The existing structure, newly introduced elements, and contrasting brand identities overlap within a single framework, resulting in a space that is perceived not as a singular image, but as a layered and composite scene.
